
To us, art is an adventure into an unknown world... of the imagination {which} is fancy-free and violently opposed to common sense... It is a widely accepted notion among painters that it does not matter what one paints as long as it is well painted - Letter to the Editor, New York Times. Adolph Gottlieb and Mark Rothko (1945) I've watched the documentary Gerhard Richter Painting three times now and find inspiration each and every time I see it.
Since I started painting, my technique typically will involve revealing layers throughout the composition and seeing him use this type of technique on his recent works is wonderful.
As always, I start with composition a thought and idea... especially the colors .
I don't know how this is going to end. I don't know how this is going to change. I don't know how this is going to feel. But everything comes down to this.
