Creating things is how I've always communicated. For most of my life that was music. In 2014 it became painting.

I work in oil, mostly on canvas, occasionally on glass. The work is abstract expressionism — each piece planned and thought through, and each one an emotional journey worked out in color, layers and composition. I wrote about every painting as I made it, and that writing is still here alongside the work. The longer version of how this started is in Why I Paint.

I'm based in Coppell, Texas. Outside the studio I've spent my career in business — accounting, sales, consulting, and running technology companies — and my wife Tara and I founded a national nonprofit after we lost our daughter Taylor in 2010.
